Prom Inspiration

Prom is upon us, I have my leavers ball on Wednesday as i have finally finished college and have been let out to the real world, I wanted to share my dress, shoes, makeup, hair and anything else related for anyone who wants ideas for their prom or just a special occasion you might have over the summer. I had a set idea for my dress in my head and i searched high and low in shops and online, finally finding one i loved, and i got some amazing statement heels.

The dress i got online at millybridal which is great website with lots of dresses to chose from with customisable colour, there's even free shipping which is always a great bonus. I went for a short black dress, it has a sweetheart neckline with little capped sleeves, the top part has a lace pattern with a tiered skirt. There are sequins lining the top and bottom of the bodice, and they were on the sleeves too but unfortunately it just looked too much so I sat one afternoon unpicking the thread, they came off easily and didn't damage the dress at all. I think this dress is formal but still says funky as i like to be a little different, and with it being black i will definitely be able to wear this again for a different occasion.

As for shoes i wanted something that would stand out against my all black dress, that said they are black but they're super gorgeous and i love them, they are from the brand irregular choice they have a nice chunky heel so easy for me to walk in and keep on all night, they're also not too high which is great as I'm quite tall compared to my friends anyway they're open toed with a red orange floral pattern on the side and a bow type accessory on top.

For my makeup, i went for a slightly smokey eye in the greys and black with a bold orange/red lip to match the shoes and hair flower.

 The products I used are:
Eyes:
NO7 eye shadow - Khaki shineMua eyeshadow - Black and cream
No7 felt tip eyeliner - Black
Max factor mega volume mascara - Black
Rimmel london eye brow pencil - Brown
Face:
Rimmel london staye matte primer
Mac Pro longwear foundationMac studio finish concealer
Mac studio fix powder
Mua powder blush - Marshmallow
Benefit hoola bronzer
Lips:
17 stay pout lipstick - Make an entrance

Finally to finish the whole look was my hair, I wanted something off my face so that you could see my makeup and so that it would stay out the way for the whole night, my hair is short anyway so i didn't have to worry about it covering the back as this is a statement of the dress. I saw this look from a youtube tutorial and from the film hunger games, it is prim's hair style at the reaping (For anyone who knows the film). It is a plaited braid on either side, with one side having a bow detail, i then french braided my hair to create the wavy effect and pinned the two plaits at the back with a red and black flower clip to hind any pins and match in the colours with my shoes.

Hopefully this gives you some inspiration for any upcoming proms or special occasions.
P.s. This blog is being moved over to www.yasminanne.co.vu so further posts will be on both blogs but this one will be gone in a few weeks.

Beauty And Fashion Christmas

I haven't posted in two weeks, but I've been really busy over Christmas and new year, so I thought id give myself a little break and now i will get back to blogging. I have had so many family things, my birthday and I've just got back from a weeks visit to Barcelona for New year, but that will be in my next post.

As this is my first post after Christmas I thought id show you some of the beauty and fashion related presents i got from friends and family.

Beauty:
Mac eye shadow Palette - I have wanted to start one of these for so long, So I'm very pleased to finally get one, I love these as you can make them up yourself and chose the colours you want to have, and you're able to mix and match depending on what your wearing most of at that time.

Brush roll and brushes - I do not know the make or where the brush roll is from, but it has a cute pattern on the front and it makes carrying brushes around so much easier so it was a very good and practical present. I also got two new brushes from elf, an eye crease brush and a bronze/blush brush, I like them both, they're very soft and work great.

Marc Jacobs honey perfume - I absolutely love this perfume and have wanted it for so long, so I am pleased to have got it, It was joint Christmas and birthday present (birthmas) from my brother, It smells amazing, quite sweet but I love it.

Fashion:
Onesie - I have two onesies already but you can never have two many, this is quite plain, no extravagant animal but they're comfy to wear and great for relaxing Sundays.

Cashmere jumper - Again this something I have wanted for a long time, and i was lucky enough to get this as a birthday present from my colleagues at work. It's a burgundy round neck, and if you haven't even touched cashmere what are you doing, It is super soft and comfy to wear.

Marc Jacobs watch - For my birthday I asked for a special present, of a rose gold Marc Jacobs watch, I have never been into wearing watches but I can not take this one off, the face isn't huge so it sits well on tiny wrists like mine, and isn't to heavy either.

Dresses - You can never have two many dresses, both of these are skater type dresses, the red flowered dress is from primark, so I'm guessing they are a cheap buy but I love it none the less. The blue/green lace dress is from new look witch is great for a casual day and wearing to college but I could also dress it up with some heels and wear it out for the night.

Halloween Costume

It's Halloween tonight, If you didn't know that where have you been, But you are never to old to dress up so I decided to create my own little outfit and share it with all of you, It is probably slightly late as most people would be out by now if you're in the uk, but enjoy anyway. I dressed up as a witch because that was the best things I could find in my house... It was either that or tinkerbell, and as much as I love tinkerbell, She's not very scary for Halloween.

- Black dress - H&M
- Black suede brogue heels - Newlook
- Witches hat
- Witches broom
- Purple spotted fake lashes - Poundland (not best quality at all)

Hope you enjoyed this post, have a great Halloween and I shall leave you with a picture of my pumpkin I carved out. xxx

OOTD - Aztec dress and heels

After going out for a meal last night, I decided to show you my outfit and the make-up I wore as this is one of my favourites, though I think most of my clothes are my favourite. I went out for a meal for a friends birthday, only to a cute little village pub, but was really nice evening and I love getting all dressed up to go out.

So my whole outfit was bought from newlook and consisted of:
- Bodycon dress with a colourful aztec print
- Black laced cardigan with flowered pattern
- Black brogue shoes with small court heel

My make-up and hair before I went out.

My make-up after I got back, everything stayed on really well, hair back off my face to see whole make-up look.

The products i wore for this were:
- No7 beautifully matte foundation
- Natural collection concealer
- Natural collection brown eye shadow as a base for eyelids
- Natural collection liquid eye liner
- Maybelline the falsies black mascara
- Rimmel stay matte powder
- Collection 2000 bronzer
- No7 blush, blended out with my powder brush to lighten colour
- Collection 2000 lipstick in colour grape glitz

This was just a simple post showing my outfit which was really comfy and I loved wearing it, and also my make-up too which I love to experiment and try new products. Have you used any of the products I use or recommend any similar? xxx

New Cute Outfit

Hey everyone,

I have just bought a new outfit, well dress and shoes and I absolutely LOOOOOVVEE it. It's for no special occasion but found some in the high street sales when I was searching and just couldn't resist.

As I am on holiday the last week and this week too, this is going to be a simple post just showing you my outfit. It's super cute and I can't wait to wear it out one night, if I even get invited anywhere :(

I know the photos are basically the same but here is my outfit. A tanned laced floral dress, has three quater length sleeves and a low back to it as well. It is very girly and floaty makes you feel very pretty. The dress was from miss selfridge in the sale but I do not remember the exact price.

I then bought some nude patent heels from the shop Matalan, I think this is only in England, to go with it. They have a squared toe, with a court heel, not too high so they're very comfortable to wear. They were £15, not in the sale I'm afraid.

Sorry for the short post, but I hope you liked my little outfit. Stay tuned for more when I'm home from holiday. xxx

Stripes and bright lips

Hi everyone,

As I am liking my look for today, I thought the best thing to post would be a little explanation of my outfit and make-up. This is only my first post, but there is much more to see, I've got a few things planned so you will have to wait and see.

For my outfit, I'm just wearing a simple long sleeve dress, from forever 21, it was really cheap at only £10.50 so it's great if you love a bargain. It is super comfy to wear and great for all weather. I personally like forever 21 as I don't know many people who buy from there so if you're worried you're going to have something the same as others, it is quite unlikely.

Doing my make-up is my favourite part of a look as I think it just finishes and compliments your outfit. This is just really simple with a subtle shimmery eye shadow and a bright lip. I like this as it is good for everyday, nothing to heavy on the face or eyes, but I like to wear a bright colour on my lip, I won't going into much detail about the different products I use as I will probably do that very soon on a separate post. However I will say that a lot of the everyday make-up I use is drug store brands and relatively cheap, for the main reason being I am still in college with only a Saturday job so I can't afford high end brands all the time.

The products I'm wearing:

  • Mac eye shadow in the colour gleam
  • Maybelline, the falsies mascara
  • Collection 2000, pencil eyeliner in black
  • Natural collection, shine away foundation in the colour porcelain
  • Natural collection concealer
  • No7 pressed powder in translucent
  • Maybelline brow pencil in the colour soft brown
  • Mac lipstick in the colour impassioned
Stay tuned for more and hoped you like the first post. xxx
