Empties Of June

This is my first ever empties post but i have seen millions of these and find them interesting, im someone that never actually gets to finish things as i get bored and try different products, so im left with products half empty or just little bits in the bottom. However this month i ended up actually finding myself with a few different empty products that i wanted to share and say my opinion on them.

No7 felt tip liner
I have had this liner for a long time, since before christmas i think as i got it free on an offer, and i have been using it practically non stop since, it is the nicest eyeliner ever, i can not describe how much i like it. Its really easy to apply to your eye whether you want just a thin line or a thicker cat eye, the colour is very opaque and it stays on really well during the whole day but comes off easily at night with makeup remover. I will definitely be repurchasing this product again.

Max factor mega volume mascara
This mascara i have actually repurchased multiple times, so i have had a few empties of this product, but this is a mascara that i use everyday, every occasion, it works really well and adds great volume to your lashes. It is a very good drug store product and i really don't intend on trying anything different soon.

Lush bubble bars & bath bombs
I suppose this is not like a tube product that becomes empty, but i have used up all of the bath bombs and bubble bars i had from lush and just bought a couple more, I love them, they are the best thing to put into your bath when you just want to relax, they all smell amazing and they turn your water some very cool colours. My favourite one i just finished was the comforter bubble bar, it is a pink and white swirled colour and smells of mainly blackcurrent, it is lovely and really does help to relax.

Girlz only dry shampoo
Dry shampoo is something that i think most people should have, it is a good product to use between washes to help give your hair that boost and also great for certain hairstyles when trying to do a bigger look. At the moment i have used one called Girlz only which you can get from the supermarket really cheap, but i will probably use a batiste dry shampoo next as i feel it works a little better.

Prom Inspiration

Prom is upon us, I have my leavers ball on Wednesday as i have finally finished college and have been let out to the real world, I wanted to share my dress, shoes, makeup, hair and anything else related for anyone who wants ideas for their prom or just a special occasion you might have over the summer. I had a set idea for my dress in my head and i searched high and low in shops and online, finally finding one i loved, and i got some amazing statement heels.

The dress i got online at millybridal which is great website with lots of dresses to chose from with customisable colour, there's even free shipping which is always a great bonus. I went for a short black dress, it has a sweetheart neckline with little capped sleeves, the top part has a lace pattern with a tiered skirt. There are sequins lining the top and bottom of the bodice, and they were on the sleeves too but unfortunately it just looked too much so I sat one afternoon unpicking the thread, they came off easily and didn't damage the dress at all. I think this dress is formal but still says funky as i like to be a little different, and with it being black i will definitely be able to wear this again for a different occasion.

As for shoes i wanted something that would stand out against my all black dress, that said they are black but they're super gorgeous and i love them, they are from the brand irregular choice they have a nice chunky heel so easy for me to walk in and keep on all night, they're also not too high which is great as I'm quite tall compared to my friends anyway they're open toed with a red orange floral pattern on the side and a bow type accessory on top.

For my makeup, i went for a slightly smokey eye in the greys and black with a bold orange/red lip to match the shoes and hair flower.

 The products I used are:
Eyes:
NO7 eye shadow - Khaki shineMua eyeshadow - Black and cream
No7 felt tip eyeliner - Black
Max factor mega volume mascara - Black
Rimmel london eye brow pencil - Brown
Face:
Rimmel london staye matte primer
Mac Pro longwear foundationMac studio finish concealer
Mac studio fix powder
Mua powder blush - Marshmallow
Benefit hoola bronzer
Lips:
17 stay pout lipstick - Make an entrance

Finally to finish the whole look was my hair, I wanted something off my face so that you could see my makeup and so that it would stay out the way for the whole night, my hair is short anyway so i didn't have to worry about it covering the back as this is a statement of the dress. I saw this look from a youtube tutorial and from the film hunger games, it is prim's hair style at the reaping (For anyone who knows the film). It is a plaited braid on either side, with one side having a bow detail, i then french braided my hair to create the wavy effect and pinned the two plaits at the back with a red and black flower clip to hind any pins and match in the colours with my shoes.

Hopefully this gives you some inspiration for any upcoming proms or special occasions.
P.s. This blog is being moved over to www.yasminanne.co.vu so further posts will be on both blogs but this one will be gone in a few weeks.

Inspired Makeup - AshleyMarieGaming

There are so many people out there whether they be celebrities, bloggers, friends or family that i look up to and find inspiration from their style and makeup. So I'm going to start posting inspired makeup looks from the people i like. I did one of these a little while ago of Hayley Williams, but this is going to be more of a regular occurrence.

Today i wanted to do an inspired look from the youtuber Ashley from AshleyMarieGaming, i just think shes a great person and has an amazing style. From what i have noticed she usually wears black liner, a plainer face makeup with no bronzer or blush and sometimes a red/pinky lip. We both also have purple hair which if pretty great. So this is my own take on this.

Eyes:
Silver/grey eyeshadow - Avon - Used as base coat all over the lid
Black eyeshadow - Mua - Used to cover the lid and darken in the crease
Black cream eyeliner - Elf
Maxfactor mega volume mascara
Black pencil eyeliner - line the water line
Brown eyebrow pencil - Rimmel

Face:
No7 beautifully matte foundation - warm ivory
Natural collection concealer - Fair
Mac studio fix concealer - NW15
Rimmel stay matte powder - Peach glow

Lips:
Collection Lipstick - Burgundy, but no exact colour
Elf lipstick - Gypsy

Hope you like these sorts of posts xxx

College VS Work

Now I knew I looked different from when i go to college and when I'm at work, i mean most people dress differently when you're not at work, but i didn't realise i looked that different my own colleagues wouldn't recognise me, i had to pop into work one day after i finished college and as i walked into the shop my colleague didn't take any notice who i was, till i said hi to her and she was surprised how different i looked, so i thought id share my two different looks with you all as i found this rather interesting.

College:
This is a typical college look, i normally wear my everyday face routine with a bit of a brighter blush and sometimes a bright lipstick like this. My eye make-up is normally a shimmer gold colour blended out with brown, but as i wear glasses whilst at college for reading you don't normally notice it as much.

My hair is normally down with my fringe swept across, or sometimes i will clip my fringe back if i don't have much time left.

Work:
This is then a typical work look for Saturday, I make my self presentable obviously as i work in a shop but i use much more neutral colours, for example just a cream eye shadow with black liner, a subtle pink blush to add some colour to my cheeks, and either this nude lipstick or a pink lip gloss.

I usually wear my hair up in a bun like this as it's quick and easy to do if I'm in a rush, and it keeps it off my face while working all day.

After looking at both looks next to each other i can see the difference, but i think it's interesting how slightly different make-up and a hair style can change your whole look, i suppose that is the point to some extent though. Hope you enjoyed this little post, and let me know of any similar stories if you have any ?

Red hair dye

Hey everyone,

I have some spur of motivation to write a post today, I've been thinking about it all day, and thought why not. I dyed my hair again last night, so thought what better to post than my hair tutorial I suppose, the dye I use, my routine and hair products e.t.c.

For dying my hair I do usually go to the hairdressers and get it done professionally but at £50 a time, that adds up and is pretty expensive, so as I needed to even out my hair colour again after it faded on holiday I brought a dye myself and got my friend to do it for me. I bought the schwarzkopf XXL live colour in real red, which is a permanent hair dye, and at only £5 a box from my local drug store this was such a cheap alternative to going to the hairdressers.

The colour worked really well and took all over, as I have had problems with my ends before. It didn't come out as bright a red as it said on the box but that is mainly because of my original colour I was covering, mine was a lot darker than recommended but already had red in it. It was mainly used to brighten my colour at the time and even the fading out, which it did amazingly, but would not complain about the overall shade of red, still pretty bright if it's your first try of going this colour.

As for my actual hair routine for everyday, I wash my hair with colour treated shampoo's and conditioner's, the actual brand I use can change, but two I have used a lot of and have had good results is the treseme brand, and also Aussie. These have helped to keep the colour for a little longer than normal, as red hair is prone to fade very quickly. After washing my hair I blow dry my fringe down in place and then blast the rest of my hair not worrying too much as I have many layers.

I use two main styling product on my hair and they are the VO5 give me texture styling spray, this just helps to give my hair a little messy look and separate my layers out a bit so that it is not completely flat and straight. I then use the VO5 strong hold hair spray. This is mainly for my fringe to keep that it place but also a little sprayed all over to keep my hair in place giving it that messy look and feel.

I hope you have liked the post for today and get any ideas for yourself for a similar style or any of the products I use, I would highly recommend any of them. I have my usual Friday post still coming so watch out for that, and hope your enjoyed. xxx
