MUA Make-up Haul

This month i have tried not to spend any money on make-up as I needed to start saving for practical things, you know like those pet fish i bought woops, but obviously you can't go without buying a little something so I limited myself to some things from MUA as i don't feel as bad knowing its cheaper than a high end brand but I feel just as good and some of my favourite products, so i wanted to share these with you.

Velvet Lip Lacquer - Atomic - Right
This is a very bright red, orange colour which is amazing but now think i may regret it slightly as it is definitely bold and bright but still lovely none the less. It has a great pigment and the texture is glossy when applying and dries nicely to a matte texture. It also has great staying power all day and is quite tough to remove but I think this is a good thing.

Plumping Lipgloss - Buff - Left
This is a very neutral tone which is great for everyday if you like to wear something but don't want to go too bold. It has a glossy shine to it without leaving your lips too wet or too sticky, the consistency is great. The colour is not bold but good for all day shine and last fairly well.

Liptick - Shade 11 - Left
My final lip product is the £1 lipstick, this is so cheap and one of my favourite lipsticks and shade. It is again a neutral shade or brown with a slight pink tone but with less shine and more pigment than the gloss if you're looking for something with more colour. Staying power is not too bad, I would apply after eating with this one but that's expected to some extent.

Blush - bubblegum - Right
This blusher is actually a brighter pink than the picture, it doesn't do it any justice but I couldn't get a better one so left it at that. I love the colour of this but will never wear it full on and always blend it out to make it a softer pink, put applies and blends great on the skin for a lovely finish to any look.

College VS Work

Now I knew I looked different from when i go to college and when I'm at work, i mean most people dress differently when you're not at work, but i didn't realise i looked that different my own colleagues wouldn't recognise me, i had to pop into work one day after i finished college and as i walked into the shop my colleague didn't take any notice who i was, till i said hi to her and she was surprised how different i looked, so i thought id share my two different looks with you all as i found this rather interesting.

College:
This is a typical college look, i normally wear my everyday face routine with a bit of a brighter blush and sometimes a bright lipstick like this. My eye make-up is normally a shimmer gold colour blended out with brown, but as i wear glasses whilst at college for reading you don't normally notice it as much.

My hair is normally down with my fringe swept across, or sometimes i will clip my fringe back if i don't have much time left.

Work:
This is then a typical work look for Saturday, I make my self presentable obviously as i work in a shop but i use much more neutral colours, for example just a cream eye shadow with black liner, a subtle pink blush to add some colour to my cheeks, and either this nude lipstick or a pink lip gloss.

I usually wear my hair up in a bun like this as it's quick and easy to do if I'm in a rush, and it keeps it off my face while working all day.

After looking at both looks next to each other i can see the difference, but i think it's interesting how slightly different make-up and a hair style can change your whole look, i suppose that is the point to some extent though. Hope you enjoyed this little post, and let me know of any similar stories if you have any ?

Elf Make-up Haul

At the beginning of November, Elf cosmetics celebrated having 20,000 follows on twitter by having a 50% off code to use online, now of course I could not resist and turn down this wonderful opportunity and went a head a bought a few different make-up pieces. I have used all of the products but not all of them enough to give amazing reviews but I still wanted to share the products I have with you.

I got 3 lipsticks, all quite similar colours, of a pinky red colour. At only £1.50 they are an absolute bargain and are really great lipsticks, the pigment is pretty good and lasts quite well too. I would say the darker shades are better lasting but maybe that is to expect.

From left to right the colours are: Gypsy, classy, fearless

Next with my purchases are 2 cream eye products. A cream eyeshadow at £3.75, this is a blue metallic colour which as you can see shows a lot more colour on the skin than when in the pot. It is again quite pigmented and because of the creamy texture you only need to apply a little bit to the eye. Also a cream eyeliner at £3.75 in black which also comes with quite a nice little angles brush to apply it with.

Colours from left to right: Teal party, black

The last things for this mini haul is powdered blush at £3.75, this is really great and quite subtle so this is really nice to wear on a day to day basis but can definitely be built up to create a darker colour. Finally a lipliner at £1.50, I wear quite a lot of burgundy or dark pinker red colours so I wanted something to wear with these to help keep the lasting time. This works really nice and easy to apply all over the lips.

Colours from left to right: bitter, mellow mauve

The prices shown above are the original prices for if you bought the products now with no offers. But all in all with 50% off I only spent roughly £8.60 which is really great value for great products.

Autumn make-up

Autumn is here with the cold, rain and those dark mornings everyone dreads, so I have decided to create this autumn look. This is something I would wear out for an evening look, or for everyday, I would pair the eyes with just some lip gloss/stain. With autumn I love deep burgundy colours as well as neutral warm brown colours. So for this look I created a warm brown glittery eye, a slight blush on the cheeks, and a deep burgundy lip.

Eyes:
- MUA pallete
- black eye pencil
- Maybelline the falsies mascara
- maybelline eye brow pencil

Lips:
- Collection lipstick (do not have the colour name unfortunately)

Hope you enjoyed, What are some of your favourite autumn colours? xxx

What's In My Make-up Bag?

Recently I have been travelling quite a lot lately, whether it has been holidays, short weekends away, or just a night at a friends, and because of this I've had to pack up my essential make-up in my bag and just carry the bare necessities (Jungle book reference ;) So for today I thought id share what those essentials are, and maybe you have the same too or could recommend any to me.

To start with my actual make-up bag I have this cute white and pink flowered bag from Cath Kidston, it's not massive but it is perfect size to put in your travel bag to take away and still be able to fit all your things in, It's a nice wipe clean material so easy enough to get rid of any mess.

For my eyes, I always take the MUA palette, there a great range of colours, from nudes to bright blue, with great matte colours for brow and highlighting, as well as shimmers for a night out depending on the eye look I'm wearing. The Maybelline the falsies mascara is always a must have, I use it every day at home, so couldn't leave with out it. I will take 2 eye liners one pencil from Collection and my liquid eye liner from natural collection. Finally is an eye brow pencil, my favourite one at the moment is from Rimmel, and I will carry this everywhere because it's always good to fill in your brows.

For the face I take 4 main products, the foundation is No7 beautifully matte foundation, this is the best I've tried so far and with a great finish and long lasting it's great for every occasion. I always have natural collection concealer, just in case of those dark circles under my eyes, (from any late nights) or if any blemishes appear. To set all of this I take the Rimmel stay matte powder and as well as that to add a little colour to the cheeks I use the Rimmel match perfection blush.

To top off the make-up look you can't leave without a few lipsticks, my 3 favourite at the moment are mac in impassioned, collection in and also . Three completely different colours to work well with any kinda of eye look. I then also take a lip balm which I have been in love with the Babylips from maybelline, they're great to add a little colour or just to use as moisturiser.

Finally to apply all this makeup i have 4 essential make-up brushes, real techniques expert face brush for foundation, real techniques eye shadow brush, as well as a blending brush, and a QVS powder brush for blush and powder.

Thanks for reading and leave me a comment saying what some of your essentials are? xxx

OOTD - Paramore concert

Yes I went to a Paramore concert this week, and I will say it was amazing. I have loved them for so long but this was the first time I had ever seen them live, and it was the best night of my life. Hayley and the rest of the band are amazing live, they sound just as good and can really get a crowd going, I wish I could have stayed forever. Besides the point of me going and it being great, I wanted to share my outfit and make-up for the night as I thought it was really cute and maybe you'd like it too.

For my outfit I wore a black and white checked high waisted skirt, this was from new look, but was purchased a long time ago so won't be in stock any more, however I'm sure you can find similar styles of this in places like H&M and Newlook still. I then paired this with a cute green crop top with the word 'Boffin' printed on the front, I would not normally wear a top like this but this is a family joke so I couldn't resist buying it. Finally wearing black patent Dr.Marten boots to finish off the outfit, this gave my girly outfit that little bit of rock style I love and of course, I get my inspiration from Hayley.

During the concert I also purchased one of the Paramore tour tops, in a green colour so I wore this over the top of my outfit for most of the night too.

Above are photos showing my makeup that night. I wore a slightly winged black eye , using natural collection liquid liner, follow by coating my lashes with Maybelline the falsies mascara. For my eye brows I filled them in a little with a pencil and used the new Maybelline brow drama mascara. I also highlighted just on the brow bone with a little cream eyeshadow.

For my face make-up I'm wearing No7 beautifully matte foundation, blended from the middle outwards, then using Natural collection concealer I put a little under my eyes and then on any red areas, mainly around the nose and bridge of the nose. I used Rimmel stay matte powder and then applied Rimmel Blush and blended out lightly to keep it just a subtle  pink colour. Finally for my lips I wore collection 2000 lipstick in the colour sugar plum, this is actually less pink than it looks in the picture but my lighting changes the colour.

Hope you enjoy this post, and watch out for the next one. xxx

Back to school make-up

Hey Everyone,

School has now officially started for most people, unless you start back on Monday of course, But it started on Friday for me and I thought what better to post than a back to school make-up look of what I wore.

Eye make-up:
- Mac eyeshadow in the colour gleam
- Collection 2000 supersize mascara in black
- Eye brow pencil in light brown

Face make-up:
- Natural collection foundation in porcelain (I only used a small amount of this as been on holiday recently and don't need much at all)
- Natural collection concealer (for under eyes mainly and my slightly burnt nose :( )
- No7 pressed powder
- No7 Bronzer (to make my face look more naturally tanned as my chest and neck is well tanned)
- Rimmel match perfection blush (blended out to give a slight hint of pink, nothing to strong)

Brushes:
- Real techniques expert face brush (for foundation)
- Simple eye shadow applicator
- QVS powder brush
- QVS retractable brush (Used for blusher and bronzer)

For this make-up look I left my lips looking completely natural just using lip balm through out the day to keep them moisturised. I hope you like this look and give you any tips or ideas to re-create your own similar make-up. If you do re-create this and try anything similar please tweet me the picture or instagram it and tag me in it, would love to see them.

Stay tuned for the next post. Much love to everyone xxx
