Purple Lipstick - Mac VS H&M

A little while back i had a fancy dress party where i needed a dark purple lipstick, and straight away i went to Mac were i picked up a deep purple colour, i don't wear it often as it is quite dark but recently when being in H&M i walked past the little makeup stand and saw a very gorgeous purple colour so thought id try this one out too, which is what got me here, i wanted to compare the two, its not a colour dupe it's probably more of a product dupe though they are slightly different, as one is matte and one is not.

The Mac lipstick is in the colour cyber which is a very deep purple, i absolutely love it but definitely better for the winter. This is a satin lipstick so has some shine and moisture to it once applied. I feel this is where it lets the product down, i found it very hard to apply as the colour would smear and not look even on the lip which was the main problem.

The lipstick from H&M was in the colour burgundy which is more of a brighter colour and with a matte finish. This is one of my favourite colours at the moment. I found this a lot easier to apply as it has a bolder colour and you do not need to keep going over to get the colour you require.

Overall i do prefer the H&M lipstick, but for a matte lipstick the wear time on it was not great which may be expected from a cheaper product, You did need to reapply after eating or drinking anything as it comes off easily, i would say more than the Mac lipstick. However at only £3.99 you really can't complain as it is a good lipstick, and definitely will be trying more out.

May's Shopping Haul

This weekend was a bank holiday weekend in England so me and some family went on a shopping trip to Southampton, i only had a few things i needed to get for my leavers ball coming up in June, but of course if i was going shopping, i was going to shop well and come back with a few more items than i imagined, i bought some clothes ready for the nice weather, some new make up and few other bits too.

First stop on the trip was primark as it is super cheap, and i think why buy it somewhere else when you can get it cheaper for a good quality here. I got a green midi skirt which is high waisted and has a flower pattern all over and fully lined underneath so it is not see through, looks really nice for everyday with just a black vest tucked in, or you could easily dress it up for the evening with some lovely nude heels. I got a black and white stripped swing dress, it has very thin thread straps, it hangs well as it is a heavier material.

These little shorts are really thin material but i loved the bright pattern and will be great for relaxing around the house, but for taking on holiday to get to the beach and such. As well as clothes in primark i also bought a new lampshade as currently i just had a bulb hanging from ceiling, i picked up this paper sphere with a pretty floral pattern all over, as it is a light colour the light shines through really well.

Second stop on the list for clothes was newlook which i picked up a white strapped crop top, it has a cut out flower pattern over the top which is lined underneath with thin straps, this will be great for the summer over maxi skirts or shorts and will show of a good tan. I also couldn't resist the flowered scrunchie which a pale pink and a floral pattern again, it will look cute when wearing my hair but also fits over the top of a bun.

Lastly on the hunt for clothes was H&M where i found a navy blue cardigan, which is very basic but something i was intending to buy as it goes with a lot of things, and easy to put on when it gets a little chilly. Also as a surprise find was a little fitted shirt which is a denim blue colour and white birds on it, having sort sleeves means you wont get too hot in the summer, if England gets any sun, but you could wear with some jeans or even pair it with a nice skirt and wedges for the nicer weather.

As i can not go anywhere without looking at makeup, i found a lipstick stand and couldn't resist, so i tried a matte purple colour, and it is one of my favourites, it surprised me for the good, the colour is bright, applies easily, and has a good lasting time.

Next was the hunt for some heels to go with my dress for leavers ball which was the actual reason for the shopping trip, i found a pair from the brand, Irregular choice in the shop schuh and fell in love with them as soon as i put them on, i will be doing more of a post on my outfit in another post, but these are very comfy and easy to walk in as they have a thicker heel and don't make me look too tall as i am already about 5'9.

Last but not least was the makeup purchase, i can't go anywhere without hunting down the mac shop or counter and with the new one in Southampton i thought why not, i got the pro longwear foundation which is a medium coverage but can be built up and has a matte finish, as well as the studio fix powder which works as a great setting agent and finishes off the look.

Inspired Makeup - AshleyMarieGaming

There are so many people out there whether they be celebrities, bloggers, friends or family that i look up to and find inspiration from their style and makeup. So I'm going to start posting inspired makeup looks from the people i like. I did one of these a little while ago of Hayley Williams, but this is going to be more of a regular occurrence.

Today i wanted to do an inspired look from the youtuber Ashley from AshleyMarieGaming, i just think shes a great person and has an amazing style. From what i have noticed she usually wears black liner, a plainer face makeup with no bronzer or blush and sometimes a red/pinky lip. We both also have purple hair which if pretty great. So this is my own take on this.

Eyes:
Silver/grey eyeshadow - Avon - Used as base coat all over the lid
Black eyeshadow - Mua - Used to cover the lid and darken in the crease
Black cream eyeliner - Elf
Maxfactor mega volume mascara
Black pencil eyeliner - line the water line
Brown eyebrow pencil - Rimmel

Face:
No7 beautifully matte foundation - warm ivory
Natural collection concealer - Fair
Mac studio fix concealer - NW15
Rimmel stay matte powder - Peach glow

Lips:
Collection Lipstick - Burgundy, but no exact colour
Elf lipstick - Gypsy

Hope you like these sorts of posts xxx

Christmas Favourites

It is now officially December and that only means one thing, It's Christmas very very soon. I am someone that gets very excited for Christmas as soon as the 1st of December is here, I mainly blame my mum as she loves it just as much as me. As Christmas is coming and lots of you will be putting up decorations and what not soon, I thought id share some of my Christmas favourites and decoration ideas.

For beauty, my favourite things to wear this Christmas are 2 lipsticks and of course a nail varnish. For winter my favourite colours are deep plum/purple and burgundy, so of course. One of the lipsticks that I love at the moment is from collection 2000, and is only £2.99 .The second is from mac in the colour cyber which is a really deep plum colour, this is £15. Second which is great for this festive time is nail varnish, it just tops of your whole look and of course you can not have Christmas without sparkle so I am loving this gold glitter top coat from 17 which was £3.99.

Now you can not have Christmas without the amazing Christmas jumpers and t-shirts that are out this year. There are lots of great ones to chose from and I will probably be purchasing more, but at the moment my two favourite that I own are both from primark, One is a jumper that says 'I love Santa', the second is a top with a reindeer on and of course more sequins and bells too.

Last but not least is the home!!! which means lots of decorations and trees and lights and EVERYTHING. (yes I am excited). One of my most favourite things which I have decorated my room and the conservatory with is Christmas paper chains, I got these from believe it or not pound land and they are great. Finally are the trees and lights, you can not have Christmas without the sparkly lights on a Christmas tree, being lucky enough to have the space in our house we end up with 5 tress, all fake but decorated lovely, So ill share with you some pictures of those and the best decorations on them, one of those being our 2013 ball ball from Harrods.

Hope this makes you feel all Christmas festive, leave a comment sharing what your favourite Christmas things are. xxx

Super Hero Fancy Dress

This weekends adventure includes a fancy dress birthday party, the theme is super hero's and villain's so that leaves me with a lot of choice. As it is close to Christmas and do not have much money to spend, I wanted a great character but with not having to spend too much money, I also didn't want to be a typical or well known character as a lot of people would think of that. So for my costume I decided to go with Hit girl from the Kickass films. I decided to share this all with everyone to help anyone else who may have a fancy dress party and give you any ideas.

Most of the costume is very simple but some of it is handmade, this is thanks to my mum as she likes a little sewing now and then. Alot of the things I had already so didn't need to spend much. Her main colours are purple and I stuck close to the original outfit as much as I could. The clothes I'm wearing are:

- Primark - purple footless tights
- Black lace Tutu £5 - Picked up from a little stall but could find them in a lot of cheap shops
- Tartan skirt - £2 for half metre of material - hand made
- Pink belt - hand made from ribbon
- Primark - Purple long sleeve top
- Black cape - hand made
- Dr.marten boots - Already had these, Definitely did not go out and buy this specially

Usually hit girl wears a black mask across her eyes, but I didn't really want to do that so I did my make-up all nice instead. I also wanted to dye my hair purple anyway so this added to costume anyway. I'm not going to go through all of the products, but I will say some of the main ones with there colours.

Eyes:
- MUA eye shadow in purple blended with a black from the outer corner
- ELF cream eyeliner black

Lips - Mac lipstick in the colour cyber

Hope you enjoyed this fun little post, I'm really happy with how the outfit turned out. Leave any comments on your opinion, would really appreciate it (: xxx

NOTD - Purple Matte

This season I have been loving everything matte, the no7 beautifully matte foundation, Rimmel stay matte powder, and of course to top this off, matte nails. So for this short little post I'm going to share with you my nails at the moment. As much as I love burgundy for autumn, the closest kind of colour I had, was a deep purple colour that I thought I would wear, I then topped this with a matte top coat to create the effect.

-Natural collection in cosmic crush
-NYC matte me crazy top coat

Hope you enjoyed this little post. xxx

Smokey Eye Tutorial

Hey everyone,

As you may or may not know one of the spring/summer colours this year has been purple and I love this colour, a deep rich purple is great on its own or even to create a smokey eye look. So as I have been wearing this make-up look for ages now I thought I would share it with you too.

It consists of a purple eye, with a basic face make-up with some subtle blush and a pinky/red lip.

To start with my eyes I applied the accessorize purple eye shadow all over the lid and then blended with a blending brush. After I used a black eye liner pencil on the outer corner of my eyes and along my lash line and then blended that into the purple to give a slight smokey look.

Finally I lined as close to the lash line with the eye liner pencil and applied collection 2000, super size mascara in black, using a couple of coats to give big lashes. Also defining my brows with a brown brow pencil to fill in any gaps.

After my eyes I did my face make-up in the usual way, I used natural collection foundation in the colour porcelain with a real techniques expert face brush, starting from the middle and blending outwards. Then apply natural collection concealer under the eyes, and also any red areas like around the nose and on any blemishes.

To set that all in place  I used No 7 pressed powder in the colour translucent all over the face and then applying a subtle pink blush on to the cheeks with Rimmel match perfection blush.

Finally finishing off the look I wore a pink/red lipstick, however I do not know which make or colour it exactly is as all the writing has rubbed off.

Hope you liked this little tutorial of the make-up I've been wearing a lot lately. Maybe you got some ideas and will re-create you own look similar.

Thankyou for reading, stay tuned for more. xxx
