Favourite April Products

At the beginning of April and during Easter we had some lovely weather and i really started to feel ready for when summer would be here and all my exams would be finished, now unfortunately i'm back at college and all it has done is rain, but during this month i have had lots of new favourite products that i wanted to share. I've tried to chose one from each area such as an eye shadow, a lipstick e.t.c.

Mac eye shadow - Steamy
To start this eye shadow is the most amazing colour, if applied lightly it gives just a subtle green but can be layered to create a lovely metallic green colour, I love this colour at the moment for nicer weather. This has a frost finish so it has a metallic sheen to it and a slight shimmer.

Tanya Burr lip gloss - Exotic island
I wanted to buy some of Tanya Burrs new products and this was the one i ordered but was quite worried as it looks very bright, however it is my favourite, when applied it really isn't as bright as you may think, it is a lovely pink tone, has a glossy shine but it is not too sticky and applies really well with the applicator.

Collection 2000 lipstick - Pretty please
This lipstick i have had for ages and every so often it still comes out, but with this great weather its my favourite at the moment, the colour is a pink coral, not too bright so great for everyday and is perfect for the sun, It applies really well to the lips but would need re-applying through out the day.

Rimmel 60 seconds nail varnish - Fifty shades of pink
This nail varnish i actually got for free on an offer, and from the name i though pink, no, i don't like pink but who would turn down a free bargain, when actually I love this colour, It's not too pink at all, its a lovely deep pink/red. I have lots of this brand and they really do dry quickly and they are really easy to take off after too.

Marc Jacobs perfume - Honey
This perfume is by far my favourite for a while, i got this as a christmas present and have been using it since and still love it, It has a sweet scent which is nice and the packaging is just very cute with the bees.

Witch hazel blemish gel
This is non makeup related but i wanted to put it in there none the less as it is a great product, I suffered from a mild acne and been on medication but now i have started to get it again across my chin and cheeks so i picked up this and it has been working, it obviously hasn't got rid of it but this is a clear jel I apply every night to troubled areas and it helps to dry it and reduce it.

DIY - Bow Jumper

This is a new little thing that I'm thinking about starting, DIY posts maybe once every two weeks. I know lots of people do this already and this post in particular i got inspired by Marzia as i have re-designed my jumper and added bows to the back.

You will need:
- An old jumper
- Pieces of ribbon
- Needle and thread
- scissors

To start of with i tied all my pieces of ribbon into little bows, you could make them as a big as you wanted and any colour you liked, i chose white to match my jumper but you could chose a contrast colour to make it stand out.

I then sorted where i would put the bows on the back of the jumper and mark out how long the cut will be with tailors chalk, but you could use a pencil, and then cut with scissors.

For this next part i used a sewing machine as it was quicker but you could do it by hand if you preferred, i turned the jumper inside out and folded each side of the cut back and sewed it to make a hem and stop the jumper from fraying.

Then with a needle and thread, i chose white thread to make it as invisible as possible on the jumper, I sowed the bows down the back of jumper bringing the whole together in even intervals.

With this jumper the sleeves where too tight so i cut a small slit up from the wrist and rolled it up and hand sewed on the seem to keep it together, this help open the sleeve and make it a little different.

Tanya Burr's Lips And Nails

I finally managed to purchase some of Tanya Burr's lip glosses and nail varnishes, and just by using them for a day i already fell in love with them. I only purchased 2 of each but i will definitely be buying more.

In the lip glosses, i bought exotic island which is a bright pink/purple and i love it, I was slightly scared it would come out a lot brighter on the lip than it does, but i'm rather glad it doesn't, its a beautiful pink tone with lots of shine. The second was Champagne toast, its a really neutral colour with a little bit of sparkle and shine, great for everyday if you want to wear something but without standing out. The lip gloss itself are amazing, they have a great consistency of not being to sticky or runny, the applicator is lovely and soft making its easy to apply.

The nail polishes i bought are bright and early, a pink coral, great for spring to add a pop of colour to any outfit. Then midnight sparkle which is a deep black purple colour, it has a slight sparkle in which can be seen if it catches the light sometimes, would look great for an evening look. The nail polishes apply easily without being to gloopy or runny, i feel you probably need two coats to make it opaque but i do this with most anyway, the colours are left bold when dried. The only thing i would prefer is if the brush is a little bigger, but that's only a preference, it doesn't fault the nail polish one bit.

Hope you enjoyed and i would love to hear your comments down below.

Inspired Makeup - AshleyMarieGaming

There are so many people out there whether they be celebrities, bloggers, friends or family that i look up to and find inspiration from their style and makeup. So I'm going to start posting inspired makeup looks from the people i like. I did one of these a little while ago of Hayley Williams, but this is going to be more of a regular occurrence.

Today i wanted to do an inspired look from the youtuber Ashley from AshleyMarieGaming, i just think shes a great person and has an amazing style. From what i have noticed she usually wears black liner, a plainer face makeup with no bronzer or blush and sometimes a red/pinky lip. We both also have purple hair which if pretty great. So this is my own take on this.

Eyes:
Silver/grey eyeshadow - Avon - Used as base coat all over the lid
Black eyeshadow - Mua - Used to cover the lid and darken in the crease
Black cream eyeliner - Elf
Maxfactor mega volume mascara
Black pencil eyeliner - line the water line
Brown eyebrow pencil - Rimmel

Face:
No7 beautifully matte foundation - warm ivory
Natural collection concealer - Fair
Mac studio fix concealer - NW15
Rimmel stay matte powder - Peach glow

Lips:
Collection Lipstick - Burgundy, but no exact colour
Elf lipstick - Gypsy

20 beauty question

The post this Wednesday i wanted to do another beauty tag, so i found a 20 questions beauty tag, where i am going to answer them all for you.

1. Do you remember your first makeup item?
I think i started out like most people where you'd use some of your mums things that she didn't really want anymore, or trying on all those lipsticks and eye shadows. I have very bad memory of what even happened yesterday so to remember that far back is hard, but i think i recall a pink lip gloss that i first had and probably some very bright eye shadow of sort.

2. Describe your perfect mascara, have you found one that fits your specification?
I have used so many different mascaras in the past, but i would say i usually go for a more volume mascara with some curl effect, and it has to have a nice applicator so you do get a clumpy effect. At the moment i am using the max factor mega volume mascara and it is one of my favourites to date, and i would say fits my needs.

3. What kind of coverage do you prefer with foundation?
I like a medium coverage foundation, i don't want it to feel heavy and caked on my face but i do like a good coverage to help cover any blemishes.

4. Favourite high end brand?
I would have to say mac, I like a lot of their products and they have a large range with everything from the make-up to brushes too.

5. What brands have you always wanted to try but haven't yet?
This is mainly because i am still a student and do not earn enough to be able to afford this all the time, but i really want to try out urban decay, Nars and Bobbi brown.

6. Favourite drugstore brand?
I use a lot of drugstore brands, i would say my favourite is Rimmel at the moment, and i use a lot of their products from lipsticks, to the eyebrow pencil and also face products.

7.  Do you wear fake eyelashes?
I have actually never tried any, but i definitely would if i had a special occasion, maybe i will try for my prom.

8. Is there any make-up you can't leave the house without?
I normally don't go out without makeup but if i had to wear a minimum i would stick to mascara and concealer.

9. What is your most cherished beauty product?
Definitely my mac eyeshadow palette, it is not complete at the moment but i am working on it and i just love it and how you can personalise it to the colours i want.

10. How often do you pick up makeup?
Some months i will just pick up things and there when i want to add something new to a collection. But recently i have been on a no makeup shopping ban so there are definitely a lot of new things i will be getting all at once to try out.

11. Do you have a beauty budget, or you spend freely?
I spend freely in the sense that i don't really have a budget as long as I'm left with some money by the end of the month, however i am good with limiting myself and no when to stop. The last couple months i have been on a ban to save money.

12. Do you utilise vouchers, cards and sales when shopping for cosmetics?
I do, anything to save money is great, i always look for the 3 for 2 offers that a lot of drug stores have, i when boots give you different vouchers for items. And i always use my student discount when i can in some shops.

13. What type of product do you buy most of?
Lip products, whether that's lipstick, lip balm, lip gloss there are always so many colours i just think you can never have too many.

14. Do you like trying new skin care products or stick to the same routine?
I am always trying new things when others have ran out. I think my moisturiser is one i will keep for a while now as i am really liking it at the moment, but as for makeup remover and facial washes they are always changing.

15. Favourite bath and body brand?
At the moment it is lush, everything just smells amazing and feels great after i have used it. But it is always changing on what i use.

16. If you could only buy from one brand, which would it be?
Of course mac, They just have a great variety of everything and i know i wouldn't be let down with anything.

17. Favourite beauty gurus?
Tanya burr, Zoella, missglamorazzi

18. Are you clumsy in putting makeup on?
I don't think i am, I suppose a lot of people would be if you're in a rush but that's to be expected, if I've got the time, i don't think i am.

19. How many hair products do you use on a typical day?
Normally i would just use shampoo conditioner and then a little hairspray, but if i was using a lot of heat products for example curling my hair or straightening my hair properly then i will use a heat protect product as my hair is coloured.

20. What do you love about makeup?
I love how it can help with someones self confidence, people say oh you don't need it you're already pretty, which may be true but i feel makeup helps my confidence on how i look and give you that boost to be who you want to be. It also just can complete an outfit or look, it is so versatile and completely down to your imagination on what you want to do with it, whether it be subtle or extravagant.
